Being born of humble parents namely Mr.Sellandipillai and Mrs.Parvathi Ammal in a hamlet panchamadevi in 1962, Mr.S.Chidambaram rised himself to the highest plane by his industrious hard work. He had been graduated and post graduated from National College, Trichy.
From 1997, he became the part and parcel of Karur Texcity Rotary club. Holding various positions he discharged his duties remarkably. In 2003-2004 he became the secretary of Karur Texcity Rotary Club, in 2004 he became the Vice-President and subsequently at the beginning of second century of Karur Texcity Rotary Club, he became the president of Rotary Club of Karur Texcity and created a landmark by executing 77 service schemes in 52 weeks and he had been appreciated as a remarkable Rotarian in 2003-04. Paul Harris Fellowship was conferred on him in 2003-04. Through microcredit society originated by Rotary Club of Karur Texcity, he offered loans without interest to Ten self help groups of 100 members. He took special care and keen interest in collecting the loans without any arrears and it is the specialty of his efficiency.
Karur Texcity Rotary Foundation :
Right from the beginning of the trust, he showed keen interest in doing service under rotary club charity trust in the capacity of treasurer for four years and chairman of the Trust for Two years. During his tenure he conducted Twice the dance programme in a grand manner. It is to be noted as a special feature, the inauguration of Karur Texcity Rotary Community Hall by Mr.T.S.Krishna Moorthy then election commissioner of Government of India.
Still he is continuing his dedicated service at District Level and Rotary club as home. In 2010-11 he was made the Assistant Governor of R.I District 3000.
Professional Efficiency :
In his personal life, he has been the Founder Chairman and Managing Director of Karur Benefit Fund Ltd. is recognized as a “Nidhi” company of Government of India. Also he has been the founder chairman cum correspondent of various Educational Institutions run by Sri Kamakshi Seva Sangh Trust. Sakthi College of Nursing and Sakthi School of Nursing, Sri Meenakshi Catering and Fashion Designing College and Sri Meenakshi Matriculation School are pursing and thriving as notable institutions in karur District
He was the President of Tamilnadu Benefit Fund Association, which is having traditional fame of 175 years and he was holding the office as President for four years from 2000 to 2004.
He has been acting as high level committee member of Chamber of Nidhis, recognized by the Government of India and also the editor of Nidhi Kathir, published by Chamber of Nidhi. He has been the co-ordinator of Tamilnadu Recognised Private Nursing Schools and Colleges Association and he is still acting as the editor of Magazine Wings, “Siragugal” , published by the Tamilnadu Recognised Nursing Schools and Colleges Association.
In the field of spirituality :
Not only in the filed of Rotary organization, but also in the field of spirituality he extended his valuable service, acting as the co-ordinator of the renovation committee of the ancient temple, built 500 years before and successfully executed the renovation of the temple at cost of Rs. 50 Lakhs with the help of worshipers and villages of Karur Panchamadevi.
He has been the Secretary of the Car Festival of Arulmigu Sri Kaliyamman Temple and conducted the car festival which remaind un cared for more than 40 years.
Arulmigu Siva temple of Prameshwar and Parwathavarthini was left out without being worshiped and lighted for more than 25 years. He took sincere effort with help of another pious personality to offer regular pooja till date and the people of Panchamadevi village are happily worshiping the lard Siva and it is the result of hard and sincere work of shri.S.Chidambaram.
Social Service :
He has undertaken so many useful social work such as laying cement road, tar road, giving drinking water connection to houses and laying proper drainage system for the benefit of society with the help of Government welfare fund.
Noting Mr.S.Chidambaram’s solid and valid services in various fields, Thiru Melai Planiyappan, the former President of Karur Majestic Lions Association and Secretary of Karur Thirukural Peravai, gave the title “Mamanithar”
Family Life :
In the year 1989 Mr.S.Chidambaram married Ms.M.Alli.,M.Com.,B.Ed., the Principal of Sri Meenakshi Matriculation School and Chief Executive Officer of Sakthi College of Nursing and Sakthi School of Nursing and both of the are leading a peaceful family life, setting a model to others. They are having two intelligent Female children, the elder Selvi.C.Abinaya., is doing the Final B.E., and the younger Selvi.C.Srinithi Deepthi studying 7th Std.
